Cab driver dies in Kolkata after brutal beating over parking dispute

A shocking case of mob violence has emerged from Vijaygarh, where a cab driver, Jayant Sen, succumbed to his injuries after being brutally beaten up over an alleged parking dispute. The incident took place on Wednesday night near Lalka Maidan when Jayant was returning home in his cab.

According to eyewitness accounts, a scooty was parked in front of Jayant’s house, allegedly in a manner that obstructed entry. A dispute broke out when some locals claimed that Jayant had knocked over the vehicle. The situation escalated quickly, leading to a group of individuals attacking Jayant mercilessly. Despite attempts by bystanders to intervene, he was left severely injured on the spot.

Jayant was rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition. Doctors confirmed that he had sustained multiple injuries, including head trauma and internal bleeding. Despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries late last night. His family has demanded strict action against the accused, calling the attack a premeditated act of violence.

Following Jayant’s death, the Jadavpur Police Station registered a case against five individuals on charges of involuntary manslaughter. Police officials stated that they have identified the accused and are in the process of making arrests. "This is a tragic case of violence over a minor dispute. We are investigating all angles, and justice will be ensured," said a senior police officer.
